Templars Retinue

Wow, I hadn't realised it had been 4 months since my last post - 1/3 of a year!

Part of the reason is because I haven't been able to do loads of painting/gaming. My son has been home for Easter so we're playing an Eastern Front game, but that has taken weeks!

But, nevermind. I have been able to start a new project! Shortly before Christmas, Wargames Illustrated promoted the 'Assassins and Templars' game. I bit!

So, for Christmas I was treated to a retinue of each and a bit of scenery, which I have been putting together when able to. I'll try and post more of it as I can. All figures in this post are from Gripping Beast.

But, here is my Templars retinue!

First up, we have the Captain/Brother Knight on the right, with the two 'Giants in Miniature' Brother Sergeants, Walter de Mesnil and Gilbert de Lacy.

Next, the Retainers - three Christian Spearmen and a Chaplain.

Three Turcopoles and three Christian Crossbows

Now, the mounted options. The Captain on the right, with appropriate models (from their 'poor fellows of Christ' range) for the two Brother Sergeants.

And, finally, mounted Turcopoles. I've attempted to align them with the unmounted figures just in case. It'll work I'm sure!

I will keep an eye out for a mounted Chaplain figure (Perry's perhaps) but next up I have some peasants to paint up ('Ambushers' in the game), then it is on to the Assassins retinue!

By the way, do you like my new light box?
